Burundi Nyagishuru

A Burundi coffee characterized by fruity, sweet, and lively notes, highlighted by peach, apricot, grape, and caramel.

Nyagishuru, hailing from the Muyinga – Buhinyuza region of Burundi, is a distinctive bean grown at an altitude of 1600 meters and processed using the natural method.

The natural process allows the bean to remain in contact with the fruit for a longer period, helping prominent fruity flavors and natural sweetness to stand out in the cup. In this profile, the soft, ripe fruit character of peach and apricot combines with the more vibrant and juicy touches of grape. The caramel note, meanwhile, lends a sweet and rounded finish to the overall structure of the cup.

Its cultivation at 1600 meters elevation enhances the coffee's aromatic structure, making it more distinct and layered, while the natural processing method delivers intense fruit aromas and a balanced sweetness.

While its fruity and aromatic character is more clearly perceived in filter brews, it yields a more intense, sweet, and pronounced cup profile when prepared as espresso.

At Federal Coffee, instead of storing our coffees in large quantities for extended periods, we prepare them with a weekly roasting schedule. This way, we aim to deliver the aromatic structure and character of Burundi Nyagishuru to you as preserved as possible.

Peach, apricot, grape, and caramel. A fruity, sweet, and aromatic cup.
